Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat butter and both sugars until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes)
  3. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop 1.5 tablespoon portions onto baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers look soft.
  8. Cool on sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
