Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1½ cups granulated white sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Cream softened butter and sugar for 3–4 minutes until pale and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until dough forms.
  5. Wrap dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness. Cut into shapes.
  8. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are barely golden.
  9. Cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
